The Covid-19 cases are decreasing in the Jammu and Kashmir state. As per the Union territory report, the cases are its decreasing for the last 20 days. The Third Wave of the coronavirus is at its peak but the rate of death is less and the recovery rate is increasing. From the last 8 days around 5,024 patients recovered whereas the overall active cases to 29,829. On 25 January the highest case was reported around 6,570.
The UT reported 146 deaths and 94,135 cases in January 2021 – the second-highest monthly total cases after May 2021, which had seen 1.14 lakh cases and 1,625 deaths at the peak of the second wave.
Active cases in the UT stand at 29,829. On December 31, the union territory had just 1,337 active cases, which had risen to 47,969 by January 26, at the peak of the third wave.
As per officials from the last 24 hours, 78,763 tests were conducted and the test positivity rate (TPR) is measured at around 2.92%. The UT also reported 7 death in the past 24 hours.
